SCS Indigenous OH&S Policy
Our OH&S Policy
To fulfill our commitment, we will be guided by the following core principles:
- Systematic Continuous Improvement: We will continually seek to improve our performance in respect of health and safety. This will be achieved by rigorously following the processes, reviews, and audits laid out in our comprehensive management system, which is structured in accordance with the ISO 45001 standard.
- Shared Responsibility & Accountability: Safety is a collective responsibility. All employees shall take reasonable care for their own health and safety and for that of their work companions and the public. We expect every team member to actively support and assist the company’s objectives to continually improve health and safety conditions across all our workplaces.
- Absolute Regulatory Compliance: We are committed to complying with all applicable health and safety laws, regulations, codes of practice, and standards. We view these legal requirements as a minimum baseline from which we will strive to build.
- Proactive Risk & Hazard Management: We will implement and maintain robust risk management systems that are relevant and suitable for our organisation’s specific risk exposure. These systems will be designed to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective controls to eliminate or minimise them, thereby promoting and continuously improving our health and safety performance.
- Defined Objectives for Measurable Progress: We will establish clear, specific, and measurable health and safety targets and objectives on an annual basis. These objectives will drive our strategy and provide a clear benchmark against which to measure our success in improving workplace safety.
- A Culture of Consultation & Participation: We will maintain a positive and inclusive safety culture. This will be achieved by encouraging the active participation, consultation, and cooperation of all employees, contractors, and visitors. Through mechanisms such as Tool Box Talks, safety committees, and regular publications, we will ensure relevant OHS information is shared and that everyone has a voice in developing measures to improve health and safety at work.
- Diligent Incident Response & Rehabilitation: We will actively and promptly respond to and investigate all incidents, near misses, and hazards. In the event of an injury, we are committed to ensuring affected employees are returned to suitable and meaningful work at the earliest possible opportunity through equitable claims management and supportive rehabilitation practices.
