SCS Indigenous Environmental Policy

SCS Indigenous is actively identifying and pursuing opportunities that minimise environmental impact, reduce waste, and conserve natural resources.

Our Environmental Policy

Our objective is to actively identify and pursue opportunities that minimise environmental impact, reduce waste, and conserve natural resources. To achieve this, our actions will be guided by the following core principles:

  • Systematic Environmental Management: We will maintain a robust Environmental Management System (EMS) structured in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard. This system provides the framework for setting objectives, managing processes, and driving performance.
  • Absolute Compliance: We will comply with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and standards. Where feasible, we will strive to exceed these benchmarks and minimise any adverse impact our operations may have on the environment.
  • Proactive Risk Mitigation: We will conduct comprehensive risk assessments for all significant activities and processes to identify potential environmental impacts and implement effective controls. This includes rigorous hazard analyses and effective emergency response planning, integrated with our safety systems, to prevent accidents and process failures.
  • A Commitment to Continuous Improvement: We will establish and pursue clear improvement initiatives designed to conserve resources, minimise waste generation, and enhance our processes to better protect the environment.
  • Shared Responsibility through Engagement: We believe environmental excellence is a collective effort. We will ensure that our employees, contractors, and key suppliers are informed about this policy and are aware of their specific environmental responsibilities. Where applicable, we will communicate with the community and our customers, providing training and resources to ensure alignment with our environmental goals.

SCS Indigenous acknowledges the Traditional Owners and ongoing custodians of the Australian land — the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and community.
We pay our respects to them and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
